About Heather A. Logan

When she was 12, Heather Logan trained her collie mix, Kim, to retrieve, after watching a neighbour working his Labrador Retrievers. Kim went on to become an indispensable mink retriever during the 1960’s on the family’s mink ranch. Heather became hooked on animal behaviour and training. She has trained thousands of dogs during her career, as well as many other species, including goats, alpacas, cats, cows, chickens, rabbits, horses, mink, and even a grizzly bear and a giraffe. She has had the privilege to study animal behaviour and training methods under some of the best instructors in the world. Four trips to Hot Springs, Arkansas to study with Marian Breland Bailey and Bob Bailey has s given her extensive insight into Operant Conditioning Behaviour Analysis as a training method. Other trainers with whom she has had the honour to study include Karen Pryor, Gary Wilkes, Sylvia Bishop, Job Michael Evans, Jack Godsil, Bob Self and Ernie Brown.
