Operant Conditioning Behaviour Analysis (OCBA) is a science-based method of training animals and analyzing animal behaviour.  It can be seen as the science underlying clicker training, although some people use the terms interchangeably.

A sound (usually a clicker or a whistle) is paired with a reward (often food or a toy), and the animal quickly comes to associate the two.  The sound can then be used to quickly an accurately mark any time that the animal is doing something that the trainer wants, and is followed by the reward.  Four techniques (shaping, capturing, luring, and moulding)
are used to train behaviours.

OCBA is becoming the standard of care and training in all facets of animal training and husbandry, for pet owners, professional animal handlers, shelters, zoos, and research institutions. This effective and humane methodology is fun for the trainer and the subject being trained, and is based on simple principles of animal learning.
It works with any species (including humans)
